Running during COVID times has certainly presented new challenges for all of us. Today, we talk with pro runner Madeline Strandemo about how she keeps herself in the game, both physically and mentally.

Madeline Strandemo, who competes for both the women's cross country and track and field teams, received the 2017 Berg Legacy Award. The North Dakota native began her Gopher career as a walk-on and has since become a Big Ten champ, winning two individual titles last year as a junior: first winning the indoor mile and then winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase at last spring's outdoor championships.

Madeline Strandemo won the mile and the Golden Gophers scored points in seven of eight possible events on day two at the Big Ten Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship Saturday at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Minnesota finished fourth in the team standings with 70 points.
